ON Semiconductor's Featured New Products (FNP) list highlights some of the latest devices released. Each update includes product categories for the latest products, a summary of what makes them unique, and links to more details. Whether you're working on the latest designs or just curious about new products, these updates are your ideal guide.

KAE-02152: Interline Transfer EMCDD image sensor, 2.1 million pixels

KAE−02152 is a 1080p CCD 2 / 3-inch optical format image sensor that provides higher quantum efficiency than KAE−02150 (especially for near-infrared NIR wavelengths). The four outputs of each sensor include a traditional horizontal CCD register and a high-gain EMCCD register. This provides excellent low-light imaging performance.

The quantum efficiency (QE) at 820 nm is approximately doubled, enabling enhanced sensitivity without reducing the device's modulation transfer function (MTF). The switchable gain characteristic within the scene samples each charge packet in pixels. This allows the camera system to determine if the charge will be routed through the normal gain output or EMCCD output based on a user-selectable threshold. Scenes with bright objects against a dark background are neatly managed. From sunlight to starlight, one camera can capture high-quality images.

The vertical spill structure is anti-halo, provides excellent MTF, and enables the electronic shutter to provide precise exposure control.

KAE−02152 is available in two package configurations: PGA and PGA with integrated thermoelectric cooler.

LC717A3OUJ: Capacitance-to-digital converter for electrostatic capacitive touch sensors

The LC717A30UJ is a high-performance, low-cost, very useful capacitive converter for capacitive touch and proximity sensors. Eight capacitive sensing input channels are available for any end product that requires a range of switches. The LC717A30J accelerates system development time with automatic calibration and minimal external components. The detection result (on / off) of each sensor is read out by the serial interface (I2C or SPI).

KAE-04471: Interline Transfer EMCDD image sensor, 4.4 million pixels

KAE−04471 is a 4.4-megapixel, 4 / 3-inch format Interline Transfer EMCCD image sensor that provides excellent imaging performance in extremely low-light applications. The four outputs of each sensor contain a traditional horizontal CCD register and a high-gain EMCCD register.

The switchable gain feature within the scene samples each charge packet in pixels. This allows the camera system to determine whether the charge will be routed through a normal gain output or EMCCD output based on a user-selectable threshold. This feature enables extremely low-light imaging, even if a bright object is in a dark scene, enabling a camera to capture high-quality images from sunlight to starlight.
