STMicroelectronics, a leading global semiconductor supplier, recently demonstrated the latest smart driving solutions. With the increasingly important role of semiconductors in advanced automotive technology, STMicroelectronics has continuously developed the most advanced intelligent driving technologies, including advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), device interconnection communication interfaces, and advanced safety / environmental performance.

In terms of advanced driver assistance systems, STMicroelectronics has demonstrated a network-to-vehicle (V2X) communication chipset developed in cooperation with Israeli company Autotalks. The chipset integrates a baseband processor, a main microcontroller (MCU), a secure microcontroller, and V2X communication technology. It uses GPS satellite positioning data and Wi-Fi (801.11p) wireless network technology to analyze surrounding vehicles and road conditions for autonomous driving. Technology opens up a whole new range of possible applications. ST's positioning chip supports all major global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) and is the best companion product for V2X chipsets. STMicroelectronics also demonstrated a high dynamic range automotive CMOS camera module with the highest signal-to-noise ratio of similar products in low-light environments. The target application is a visual driving system capable of detecting pedestrians, obstacles, road signs and lanes. .

In anticipation that cars will be interconnected with the Internet and mobile devices in the future, STMicroelectronics provides automotive microcontrollers that comply with the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 data security specification, enabling automotive network interfaces to achieve the highest level of security at the physical layer. grade. In addition, STMicroelectronics will also introduce how car devices and mobile phones can communicate with each other through NFC devices. At the same time, it will also introduce automotive-grade Bluetooth® low-power Bluetooth network processors.

Today, cars have a large number of sensors to collect car-related information and implement advanced safety features. As a major manufacturer of automotive MEMS technology, STMicroelectronics exhibited a variety of automotive MEMS sensors, including three-axis acceleration sensors for automotive emergency call systems and single-axis / dual-axis acceleration sensors for airbags. STMicroelectronics also demonstrated a six-axis sensor module (three-axis acceleration sensor and three-axis gyroscope sensor) and positioning chip integration solution, which assists car navigation through dead reckoning technology when GNSS data is not available.

STMicroelectronics has a complete line of automotive microcontrollers. ST's Power architecture 32-bit microcontrollers are best suited for high-reliability control applications, including motor control, transmission control, anti-lock braking systems, electric power steering systems, active suspension and ADAS systems. Recently, STMicroelectronics has also obtained a technology license for a new 32-bit ARMv8-R processor to expand its existing automotive microcontroller portfolio and target real-time safety-related smart driving applications.

In the field of intelligent driving, STMicroelectronics also has IGBT transistors with trench gate field cut-off technology and power MOSFETs that support a wide breakdown voltage range (40V-1500V). These products are suitable for DC-DC converters or inverters in electric vehicle / hybrid vehicle power control units (PCU), which can reduce power loss and heat generation, and improve vehicle energy efficiency. Other products include transmission control chips, smart high-side drivers, ranging sensors, EEPROMs, automotive Ethernet protection chips, and motor-driven products.
