The MAX17552 is a built-in MOSFET, high-efficiency, high-voltage, synchronous step-down DC-DC converter that can operate from an input voltage range of 4V to 60V. The converter can deliver up to 100mA from 0.8V to 0.9 x VIN output voltage. In the operating temperature range of -40 ° C to + 125 ° C, the output voltage accuracy is not less than ± 1.75%.
The device uses a peak current mode control architecture and has a MODE pin that can be used to select the pulse width modulation (PWM) or pulse frequency modulation (PFM) operating mode. The PWM operating mode maintains a fixed operating frequency under any load condition, making it ideal for applications sensitive to switching frequency changes. The PFM operating mode eliminates negative inductor current and the use of pulse skipping at light loads to improve efficiency. In PFM mode, the no-load current consumption of the converter is only 22μA. The low on-resistance of the built-in MOSFET ensures high efficiency at full load and also simplifies PCB design.
The device has a programmable switching frequency to optimize solution size and efficiency. Programmable soft-start function reduces user inrush current. An EN / UVLO pin allows the user to turn the device on / off when the input voltage reaches the required value. The open-drain RESET pin can monitor the output voltage. The device operates over the -40 ° C to + 125 ° C industrial temperature range and is available in 10-pin (3mm x 2mm) TDFN and 10-pin (3mm x 3mm) μMAX® packages. Provide simulation models.
